Job summary

Whānau Āwhina Plunket in Taranaki is seeking a Volunteer Home Visiting Coordinator to grow and support this mahi in the community. This fixed-term position runs until December 2028 and involves 11–12 hours per week, delivering practical and emotional support to whānau with young tamariki in their homes.

You will recruit, train and support volunteers, coordinate referrals and matching, and work with clinical and Community Services teams to ensure services are welcoming, safe and accessible.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in community services, coordination or related not-for-profit work.
• Ability to recruit, guide and encourage volunteers.
• Good communication and cultural responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day running of the programme.
• Recruit, train and support volunteers.
• Manage referrals and match whānau with suitable volunteers.
• Build trusted relationships with whānau, volunteers and local organisations.
• Identify barriers to participation and help the programme reach whānau experiencing inequities.
