Job summary

Summerset Manukau is seeking a proactive Property Assistant to support maintenance and gardening across our village. You will work closely with the Property Manager and Head Gardener, performing tasks to keep the village safe, beautiful, and running smoothly.

This full-time role is based in Manukau, with weekdays 8:00am–4:30pm; from April 2027, time split between Manukau and Half Moon Bay with 2 days in Half Moon Bay and 3 in Manukau.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance and gardening.
• Strong DIY or trade skills – part trade qualified preferred.
• A current driver’s licence.
• The ability to work independently and take pride in your work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with general property and garden maintenance
• Helping with building maintenance and refurbishments
• Assisting with landscaping, gardening, and ground care tasks
• Taking part in property inspections and reporting safety or maintenance issues
• Communicating clearly and respectfully with residents, team members, and contractors
