Job summary

Green by Nature in Matamata is seeking a hands-on gardener to maintain village gardens and outdoor spaces. You will plant, weed, prune, mow, and perform general vegetation control, with safety and quality at the forefront.

The role is Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, outdoors in varying weather. A full NZ driver's licence and horticultural qualifications are preferred; ability to interpret planting plans is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on gardening and horticulture experience.
• Ability to follow detailed gardening plans and maintain client spaces.
• Reliable, safety-conscious with good teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain gardens to meet client expectations, sourcing plants and materials.
• Oversee day-to-day operations at designated sites and related maintenance projects.
• Communicate regularly with clients and team members.
• Maintain safety, compliance and quality across gardening activities.
