Job summary

Summerset Waikanae is seeking a dedicated Chef to join our village kitchen, delivering resident meals, café orders and cabinet selections with warmth and care.

In this permanent part-time role, you’ll work Sunday to Tuesday, 7am–3:30pm, creating set meals, supporting the cafe, and ensuring adherence to our Food Control Plan while mentoring the kitchen team.

Qualifications

• Professional cookery qualification
• Experience working as a Cook or a Chef
• Sound understanding of Food Safety Plans
• A team player who loves passing on culinary knowledge

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking set meals for residents
• Cooking short orders for cafe customers
• Assisting with creating a cafe specials menu
• Complying with the approved Food Control Plan
• Providing support and guidance to the kitchen team regarding food preparation techniques
