With ongoing training and support, you will develop the skills and judgement needed to contribute to safer communities across New Zealand.

  • Applying PVS criteria and legislation to determine whether an individual can be vetted
  • Identifying and evaluating relevant information to process applications accurately and efficiently
  • Assessing information in accordance with legislation and Police policy
  • Making disclosure decisions in accordance with legislation and Police policy
  • Escalating complex or high-risk decisions
  • Accurately documenting assessments and decisions for quality assurance and compliance purposes

You will bring:
  • Knowledge and experience of either using, interpreting or applying legislation and criminal justice terminology
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, assessing information, identifying risk, and making sound decisions
  • Excellent written communication skills together with an eye for detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
