Job summary

Qube Ports NZ is seeking a Shift Manager to lead a skilled on-site team at Marsden Point Port. You will drive loading and unloading operations, ensure safety, and manage cargo flow using our cargo management systems.

You will coordinate with captains, port authorities, and logistics partners to optimise efficiency. The role requires natural leadership, a strong safety mindset, and the flexibility to work rotating shifts to meet shipping schedules.

About the Role:

The primary responsibility of the Shift Manager is to manage and drive the loading and unloading of ships arriving at the port. This is a demanding but rewarding leadership role and pivotal to our organisation. It will involve leading a dedicated team of skilled individuals in the handling of everything from logs, timber, bulk products and more. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of your team and for managing cargo flow through the effective use of our unique cargo management systems.

Status:

This is a full-time salaried role. Rosters are driven by shipping schedules, and flexibility is required, including rotating between morning and evening shifts to meet business demands.
