Job summary

The Bog in Christchurch is seeking a Venue Manager to lead the team as we gear up for our busiest season. You will oversee day-to-day operations, drive standards in service, compliance, and performance, and lead from the front to inspire a high-performing team and exceptional guest experiences.

We offer a generous salary range and a quarterly KPI bonus, plus strong support and a dynamic team culture. 2+ years of venue management experience and proven F&B venue leadership are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of venue management experience.
• Proven experience managing a large food & beverage-focused venue.
• Strong P&L understanding and ability to analyse financials.
• Experience writing and maintaining rosters; stock take and stock loss investigations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and drive high standards across service and compliance.
• Lead from the front to inspire a high-performing team and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Manage rosters, stock control, and promotions to grow revenue and profitability.
• Collaborate with head office and departments to ensure smooth operations during peak periods.

The Bog is on the hunt for a Venue Manager to lead the team as we gear up for our busiest season. With its lively atmosphere, live music, and strong local following, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a well-established venue and make your mark.

As Venue Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations, drive high standards across service, compliance, and performance, and lead from the front to inspire a high-performing team and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

• Generous salary $80,000 - $95,000 + super

• Proven experience managing a large food and beverage-focused venue
• Strong experience working with and communicating effectively with all departments within the head office team
• Understanding and ability to learn venue reporting and systems on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• P&L understanding and ability to deep dive into financials to analyze where there is an opportunity to grow your business
• Ability to generate revenue-building ideas throughout all aspects of the business
• Presence on the floor during peak service periods, including late nights and weekends
• Write and control an effective roster
• Ability to stocktake and investigate stock loss
• Have a market awareness and trend analysis relevant to food and beverage in the area
• Be able to implement and execute promotions throughout the business successfully
