Job summary

Pro Auto in Rolleston seeks a capable, hands-on person for a full-time position. You don’t need to be a qualified mechanic; we value practical ability and a can-do attitude across automotive work, engineering or trades.

Your daily tasks include installing accessories, running wiring, fitting panels and supporting vehicle builds. Ideal candidates are comfortable with hand/power tools, show initiative, and hold a NZ driver licence.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Driver Licence required.
• Hands-on with hand and power tools; strong mechanical ability.
• Experience with automotive electrical work is a bonus.
• Willing to learn, reliable, energetic and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle accessory installation and fit-outs.
• Removing and refitting vehicle trim and panels.
• Running cabling and basic wiring.
• Installing radios, communications equipment, cameras, GPS, lighting and switches.
• 4WD and vehicle accessories work.
• Mounting equipment and components.
• Assisting with specialist and commercial vehicle builds.

Pro Auto is a specialist vehicle solutions business based in Rolleston, and we’re looking for a capable, hands-on person to join our team.

You don’t need to be a qualified mechanic or auto electrician. We’re more interested in what you can actually do.

You might have experience in automotive work, engineering, farming, fabrication, construction or another trade — or you might simply be someone who has spent plenty of time working on vehicles, machinery or your own projects.

The work can include:

• Vehicle accessory installation and fit-outs
• Removing and refitting vehicle trim and panels
• Running cabling and basic wiring
• Installing radios, communications equipment, cameras, GPS, lighting and switches
• 4WD and vehicle accessories
• Mounting equipment and components
• Assisting with specialist and commercial vehicle builds

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is confident using hand and power tools
• Has strong practical and mechanical ability
• Is comfortable working on and around vehicles
• Can take direction and then get on with the job
• Has good problem-solving skills and initiative
• Takes care and pride in their work
• Is energetic, reliable and keen to learn
• Holds a full NZ Driver Licence

Experience with automotive electrical work, 12V wiring, fabrication, engineering, machinery, vehicle accessories or 4WDs would be a bonus, but isn't essential.
