VINZ - Vehicle Inspection NZ is seeking skilled Vehicle Inspectors to assess WoF for light vehicles and CoF for heavy vehicles across New Zealand's network.
If you already hold NZTA Vehicle Inspector authority, this role lets you apply your automotive experience to keep vehicles safe and compliant. If not authorised yet, VINZ will support you through the required training and development to meet NZTA requirements.
You've spent years working on vehicles. Now you could use that experience to help determine whether they're safe and compliant for New Zealand roads.
At VINZ, we're looking for people with the right automotive experience to build a career in vehicle inspection. Whether your background is in light vehicles and WoF inspections, heavy vehicles and CoF inspections, or both, there could be an opportunity for you.
If you don't already hold the appropriate NZTA Vehicle Inspector authority, we'll support eligible candidates through the training and development required to move into vehicle inspection.
We look after our people with benefits that are genuinely worth having:
We're specialists in vehicle inspection, and we're passionate about getting it right.
Every inspection matters. Our Vehicle Inspectors help ensure vehicles meet New Zealand's required safety and compliance standards, helping keep our roads and communities safe.
Across our network, our teams undertake Warrant of Fitness (WoF) inspections for light vehicles and Certificate of Fitness (CoF) inspections for heavy vehicles, depending on the inspection services offered at each branch.
Already an authorised WoF or CoF Vehicle Inspector? We'd love to hear from you.
Not authorised yet? If you have the appropriate automotive qualifications and practical experience to meet NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi requirements for Vehicle Inspector appointment, we'd also like to talk.
Depending on your experience and eligibility, opportunities may include:
VINZ is a national business, so your career doesn't have to remain parked in one spot. You'll have opportunities to develop your technical knowledge, gain additional inspection authorities where appropriate and explore career opportunities across our network.
Ideally, you'll already hold the relevant NZTA Vehicle Inspector authority for WoF and/or CoF inspections.
Alternatively, you'll need to be able to meet NZTA's qualification and experience requirements to be appointed as a Vehicle Inspector for the relevant inspection category.
Not sure whether your experience meets the requirements? Check the eligibility criteria through the NZ Transport Agency.
This is more than another job on the tools. It's an opportunity to get qualified, build a long-term career and play a direct role in keeping Kiwi roads safe.
