Qualifications

  • Full Class 2 licence required.
  • Class 4, 5 and/or WTR endorsements are an advantage, not essential.
  • Experience in labouring, construction, or civil works.
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting, digging, and manual tasks.
  • Ability to read and understand obstruction plans.
  • Good communicator with a safety‑first attitude.
  • Excellent safety record.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

As a Utility Worker, you’ll play a key role in preparing and maintaining work sites, installing electrical distribution assets, and supporting safe, efficient field operations. This role suits someone who is physically fit, enjoys varied work, and thrives in an outdoor environment.

Site Preparation & Cabling
  • Identify hazards and set up safe worksites
  • Excavate trenches and identify underground obstructions
  • Install electrical distribution assets
  • Operate specialised installation machinery and truck‑mounted cranes
  • Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and ready for use
Performance & Delivery
  • Complete work to Northpower, customer, and regulatory standards

About you:
