Job summary

Health New Zealand in New Plymouth is seeking a Consultant Urologist to join our team in Taranaki, with the role currently scoped at around 0.6FTE and flexible or inter-regional working options.

The successful candidate will work with the team, participate in an on-call roster with registrar and house surgeon support, and bring FRACS with vocational registration or equivalent qualifications.

About the Role

We are looking for a Consultant Urologist who is interested in working in Taranaki to improve, promote, protect and care for the health and wellbeing of the people of Taranaki. While the role is currently scoped at around 0.6FTE, we are open to discussing alternative FTE or working arrangements. Flexible or inter-regional models may be considered, including options for clinicians who hold part-time roles elsewhere and can travel regularly.

The successful candidate will join a team of three and will take part in an on call roster with registrar and house surgeon support.

The department has a strong track record with audit and you will be expected to participate and contribute to the departments activities including advanced trainee registrar teaching, supervision of house surgeons, audit and medical student teaching.
