Job summary

SGS is seeking a strategic leader to head its Regulatory business across the Upper North Island, including Auckland, Tauranga and Rotorua.

You will lead and coach a high-performing team of Engineer Surveyors, drive safety, quality, accountability and exceptional customer service.

This role owns regional financial performance, builds growth strategies, maintains strong stakeholder relationships and ensures regulatory compliance across the region.

Qualifications

• Experience within the engineering, inspection, regulatory or industrial services sector.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical or operational teams.
• Strong commercial and financial management capability, including P&L responsibility.
• Knowledge of industrial plant, pressure equipment, maintenance or asset integrity environments.
• Understanding of statutory, regulatory and safety requirements.
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or Business.
• CBIP qualifications or exposure to the inspection industry would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A current unrestricted New Zealand Driver Licence.

• Managing regional operational performance, including resource planning, service delivery and utilisation
• Owning financial performance including revenue, margin, WIP, forecasting and profitability
• Developing and executing regional business growth strategies
• Building and maintaining strong customer and stakeholder relationships
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, quality and safety requirements
• Collaborating with other leaders to drive continuous improvement and business success
