Job summary

Based in Auckland, Tauranga or Rotorua, this senior leadership role will head SGS's Regulatory business across the Upper North Island. You will oversee a team of Engineer Surveyors while driving commercial performance, customer relationships, operational excellence and growth.

The role requires deep knowledge of regulatory, accreditation and safety requirements, strong leadership and financial acumen, and the ability to shape regional strategy within a global organisation.

Job Description

Based in Auckland, Tauranga or Rotorua, this key leadership position is responsible for leading SGS's Regulatory business across the Upper North Island. You will oversee a team of Engineer Surveyors while driving commercial performance, customer relationships, operational excellence and business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team of Engineer Surveyors
• Driving a culture of safety, quality, accountability and exceptional customer service
• Managing regional operational performance, including resource planning, service delivery and utilisation
• Owning financial performance including revenue, margin, WIP, forecasting and profitability
• Developing and executing regional business growth strategies
• Building and maintaining strong customer and stakeholder relationships
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, quality and safety requirements
• Collaborating with other leaders to drive continuous improvement and business success

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Experience within the engineering, inspection, regulatory, compliance or industrial services sector
• Proven leadership experience managing technical or operational teams
• Strong commercial and financial management capability, including P&L responsibility
• Knowledge of industrial plant, pressure equipment, maintenance or asset integrity environments
• Understanding of statutory, regulatory and safety requirements
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or Business
• CBIP qualifications or exposure to the inspection industry would be advantageous
• Excellent communication, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
• A current unrestricted New Zealand Driver Licence
