Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking a capable Reliability Engineer for the Macraes underground team, based in East Otago. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will own and optimise asset strategies for the mobile fleet, analyse performance and drive reliability and safety.

You will lead defect elimination, develop maintenance intervals, align data in Pronto CMMS, and deliver data-driven insights. This role requires NZ working rights, a tertiary engineering qualification, and at least 3 years in

Qualifications

• Full, Class 1 diver’s licence, with ability to drive manual vehicles preferred.
• Applicants must have NZ working rights / unrestricted NZ Visa.
• Tertiary level Engineering qualification preferred.
• 3+ years experience working with data.
• 3+ years experience in a maintenance reliability role in mining or related heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset criticality assessments, determine appropriate mitigation strategies, and align stakeholders.
• Develop appropriate maintenance strategies and tactics, including maintenance intervals and spare holding requirements.
• Build and align master data in Pronto (CMMS) to support the strategy, including asset registers, preventive maintenance tasks, and bills of materials.
• Analyse performance data through ad-hoc analysis and structured report building.
• Lead structured defect elimination and continuous improvement initiatives to close performance gaps.
• Proactively monitor asset condition and recommend corrective maintenance based on condition monitoring results.
• Monitor and report on performance using fleet management and Pronto data.
• Facilitate and lead Root Cause Analysis of losses or near-misses.
