Job description

We are developing our first original internal IP in partnership with Viva La Dirt League (VLDL Games) and are looking for a UI/UX Artist to join the team and help define and develop its user interface and player experience.

You will be responsible for designing and creating high-quality user interfaces for the game, working across the UI/UX pipeline from initial concepts and wireframes through to final in-engine implementation. You will work closely with our Art Lead, designers, and wider development team to ensure the interface fits the visual style of the game while providing an intuitive and engaging experience for players.

The role will involve designing menus, HUD elements, icons, and other interactive interfaces, with a focus on visual clarity, usability, and consistency. We are looking for someone with strong design fundamentals, an excellent eye for layout, typography, colour, and composition, and a solid understanding of user experience principles within games. An ideal candidate will be comfortable working with modern UI design tools and have experience creating interfaces for games, ideally with an understanding of implementation within Unreal Engine.

This position is a fixed-term employment role, commencing in January 2027, with a strong preference for candidates who can work on-site from our Auckland office. For the right candidate, we may be able to support remote work within New Zealand. Please note, you must have the right to work in New Zealand to be eligible for this position.

We highly value diversity. Regardless of disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or any other aspect of your culture or identity, you have an important role to play in our team.
