Responsibilities

  • Delivery of Sport and Exercise Psychology, Coaching, Biomechanics and Motor Learning, and Professional Practice undergraduate papers.

  • Other duties as directed, including relief cover.

Job description

We are seeking a passionate and akonga-focused educator who is committed to creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that enables learners to achieve their full potential. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching using innovative and blended learning approaches, developing and maintaining current curriculum and assessment resources, and fostering strong relationships with akonga, tutors, industry, and the wider community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, educational excellence, and culturally responsive teaching, while contributing positively to a collaborative teaching team through course development, research, quality assurance, academic administration, and the ongoing enhancement of teaching and learning practices.

The salary range for this role will be $77,500 - $96,800 depending on skills and experience.

This Academic Staff Member role is based at our Centre of Sports Science and Human Performance on the Rotokauri Campus and reports to the Team Manager. The role will be responsible for:

  • Delivery of Sport and Exercise Psychology, Coaching, Biomechanics and Motor Learning, and Professional Practice undergraduate papers.
  • Required programme moderation, review and content development
  • Other duties as directed, including but not limited to relief cover

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate in Adult Teaching, NZCATT or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification one level above the level required to teach
  • Experience with learning technologies e.g. Moodle, Blackboard
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills and a demonstrated ability to work with colleagues to resolve issues and meet agreed outcomes
  • Ability to use initiative, be innovative, to question the status quo and to adapt to changing circumstances
