We have a vacancy for a Trust Officer to provide outstanding support to our solicitors and accountants.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys office-based legal/administrative work. You don't need to come from a trust or legal background — our current Trust Officers have come from a range of backgrounds, and we're happy to train the right person, provided you're genuinely interested in this kind of office role and keen to learn.
Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What you'll be doing
Drafting and reviewing trust and legal documentation, correspondence and corporate documents (e.g. trustee resolutions, share transfers, company/LP incorporations)
Assisting with family trust creation and administration
Preparing bank account opening documentation and transfer instructions
Carrying out initial review of client documents and assisting with "know your client" checks
Maintaining confidential files and the firm's file management system
Answering calls and handling client and staff enquiries
Managing incoming email, post and correspondence, often on behalf of a manager
Organising and preparing for meetings
General administrative support and other ad hoc tasks as needed
What we're looking for
Strong written communication skills and an eye for detail, particularly in preparing formal documents
Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Good organisational and time-management skills, able to prioritise a varied workload
Discretion and a professional, confidential approach to client information
A proactive, team-oriented attitude and calm under pressure
Nice to have (not essential)
Knowledge of New Zealand trust legislation and regulations
Familiarity with the NZ Companies Office
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM
Experience reviewing financial statements
