Job summary

PAK'nSAVE Riccarton in Christchurch is seeking an enthusiastic Part time Trolley Assistant to join our team. You will help keep trolleys available, clean, and well-presented, while delivering friendly, efficient service to customers in a fast-paced store environment.

This role reports to the Checkout & Online Assistant Manager. You must be reliable, punctual, physically fit, and comfortable working outdoors, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Collect and return shopping trolleys throughout the car park and surrounding area.
• Safely operate trolley collection equipment and follow health and safety requirements.
• Ensure trolleys and baskets are clean, safe, and presented to store standards.
• Organise trolleys and equipment used for collection for maintenance/repairs.
• Collaborate with team members and departments as needed.

PAK'nSAVE Riccarton is seeking an enthusiastic Part time Trolley Assistant to join our team. We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Trolley Assistant to join our team. This active, hands‑on role plays an important role in ensuring trolleys are readily available, well‑presented, and easily accessible throughout the day. This fast‑paced, active role requires a strong sense of urgency, customer service skills, and a commitment to supporting the smooth operation of the store

This position reports directly to the Checkout & Online Assistant Manager/ Checkout & Online Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and return shopping trolleys throughout the car park and surrounding area, ensuring the store entrance are consistently stocked and available for customers.
• Safely operate trolley collection equipment and follow all Health & Safety requirements.
• Ensure trolleys and baskets are clean, safe, and presented to store standards.
• Organise trolleys and other equipment used for trolley collection for maintenance and repairs
• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments as needed.

Requirements:

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Positive attitude with a strong commitment to customer service.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to assist customers and colleagues.
• Committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety, food safety, and personal presentation.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays as required.
• Willingness to stay later if required to meet workload demands.
• Applicants must hold a full NZ drivers' license.
• Applicants must hold New Zealand Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid New Zealand Work Permit.
