Job summary

KiwiRail in Hamilton is seeking three motivated individuals to join our Track Maintenance team as Trainee Track Workers. This role is a physical, safety-focused position offering on-the-job training and a clear path into rail industry careers.

You'll help maintain and repair rail infrastructure, operate tools and light machinery, and work outdoors across rotating shifts. Comprehensive training and qualifications are provided from day one.

• Based in Hamilton
• Starting rate: $30.42 per hour, with regular increases as you complete training
• Enjoy a rostered schedule with9-hourshifts (6:00am to 3:30pm), working Sunday to Wednesday during Week 1 and Sunday to Thursday during Week 2.

This role is physically active, varied, and rewarding, with comprehensive training provided from day one.

We'relooking for someone who enjoy practical, hands‑on work and are committed to working safely.

You'llneed:

• A full, clean New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence
• Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual work
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to pass medical, drug and alcohol, and Ministry of Justice checks

Advantageous but not essential:

• Class 2Licence
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, labouring, or mechanical environments
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, or machinery
