Awanui Labs, part of Awanui Group, is seeking a motivated Trainee to join our Patient Services team across multiple collection centres in NZ. This permanent, full-time position is 80 hours per fortnight, offering hands-on experience and ongoing training in a high-standard medical laboratory setting.

You will collect blood samples, handle specimens, ensure proper labelling and transport, and support processing and testing while delivering compassionate patient care.

Awanui Labs is a part of Awanui Group, the largest network of human and veterinary pathology laboratories in New Zealand. Our team of specialist pathologists, scientists, technicians, phlebotomists, couriers, and shared services personnel deliver a world-class service that together collects, analyzes, and reports over 7 million patient results annually. Our Patient Services Department is responsible for the collection of blood samples and handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, urine, tissue etc from patients within the community and the hospital. These samples are then processed and tested in our state-of-the-art medical laboratory.

Our Patient Services Department is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee to join our friendly team. This is a permanent, full-time position of 80 hours per fortnight. This offers hands-on experience across multiple collection centres within WDHB Cluster 2D, including Te Atatu, Massey, Henderson, Kumeu, Helensville, and Ranui.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the processing and testing of specimens within a state-of-the-art medical laboratory.
• Maintain patient care, confidentiality, and quality standards at all times.
