Job summary

Citycare Property in Burnham is seeking a Labourer/Trainee (Gardening) to help maintain gardens, green spaces, and outdoor environments at Burnham Military Camp. The role offers hands-on learning, training, mentoring, and a long-term career path in horticulture and grounds maintenance.

No experience? No problem. You’ll gain practical skills while working with an experienced team and completing health and safety standards in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Enjoy physical outdoor work.
• Commitment to health and safety.
• Full Class 1 licence preferred.
• Able to meet NZDF security requirements.
• Right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, and garden maintenance
• Supporting grounds and landscape maintenance activities
• Learning to safely use horticultural tools and equipment
• Working alongside experienced team members
• Following health, safety, and environmental standards
• Interacting professionally with NZDF personnel, contractors, and site users
