Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Northland invites applications for a Trainee Cardiac Sonographer. The role combines clinical training with part-time study, working full-time 40 hours per week as a fixed-term position through February 2029.

Training includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Ultrasound via the University of Auckland, with study time provided under the collective agreement. Initial training will occur in Te Toka Tumai Auckland, progressing to Te Tai Tokerau, where you will perform

Qualifications

• Prerequisite educational qualification such as a BSc or equivalent acceptable to University of Auckland.
• Two years postgraduate experience in a health care setting with responsibility for patient care.
• Ultrasound experience and/or ultrasound papers are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Performing adult transthoracic echocardiography under supervision.
• Assisting with transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) procedures.
• Developing knowledge and practical skills to qualify as Cardiac Sonographer.
