Job summary

Green by Nature in Hastings, NZ is seeking a Trainee Arborist on a permanent, full-time basis. You will support the arb team with day-to-day maintenance and respond to requests, reporting to the Team Manager.

Based at the Hastings depot, you will learn pruning, shaping, tree care, removals, reductions and tool maintenance while developing safe working habits and strong teamwork. Entry-level applicants with a valid Class 1 license are encouraged; Class 2 is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Entry level or starting L3 and L4 while working.
• Positive attitude towards working safely for yourself, teammates and community.

Job description

We are looking for a Trainee Arborist to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Based at our Hastings depot, you will be reporting to the Team Manager, contributing to the arb team's day-to-day maintenance and response excellence.

You will maintain a hands‑on approach while working closely with the team and learning about all areas of responsibility which include but not limited pruning, shaping and tree care, tree removals, tree reductions and maintenance of all tools and equipment.

What We're Looking For

• Entry level or starting L3 and L4 while working
• You will demonstrate a positive attitude towards working safely for yourself, team mates and community members
• Full Class 1 drivers licence, Class 2 would be advantageous with confidence driving a manual vehicle
• You will be reliable, punctual, cooperative, and maintain positive working relationships
• You will have excellent communication and record-keeping skills
• You will be committed to being part of a wider team with a strong work ethic
