Job summary

Green by Nature is seeking a Trainee Arborist for a permanent full-time position based at the Hastings depot. You will work under the Team Manager, supporting day-to-day arborist tasks and contributing to high standards of response and safety.

You will learn pruning, shaping, tree care, removals and tool maintenance while engaging with a collaborative team that values safety, reliability and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Entry level or L3/L4 trainee looking to start in arboriculture.
• Full NZ driver’s licence; Class 2 advantageous with manual driving experience.
• Reliable, punctual with a positive team attitude.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
• Willing to learn and adhere to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Pruning, shaping, and tree care as part of daily tasks.
• Assist with tree removals and reductions as required.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
• Learn all areas of the arboriculture role and contribute to team goals.

Arborist trainee (L3-L4)

Job description

We are looking for a Trainee Arborist to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Based at our Hastings depot, you will be reporting to theTeam Manager,contributing to the arb team's day-to-day maintenance and response excellence.

You will maintain a hands-on approach while working closely with the team and learning about all areas of responsibility which include but not limited pruning, shaping and tree care, tree removals, tree reductions and maintenance of all tools and equipment.

What we're looking for:

• Entry level or starting L3 and L4 while working
• You will demonstrate a positive attitude towards working safely for yourself, team mates and community members
• Full Class 1 drivers licence, Class 2 would be advantageous with confidence driving a manual vehicle
• You will be reliable, punctual, cooperative, and maintain positive working relationships
• You will have excellent communication and record-keeping skills
• You will be committed to being part of a wider team with a strong work ethic
