Job summary

AWF New Zealand in Marlborough is seeking candidates for traffic management roles. Join our teams to coordinate traffic flow, protect workers and the public, and ensure safe site operations on civil and infrastructure projects.

Roles include directing traffic, setting up and maintaining TMP devices, and complying with CoPTTM and Health & Safety standards. NZ-wide KiwiSaver is available with weekly pay and PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in traffic management or STMS recommended.
• Ability to work in Marlborough and meet site access requirements.
• Current NZ work rights and ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• TTM implementation, setup and removal per TMP.
• Site safety management for workers, motorists and pedestrians.
• Direct traffic with stop/go signals or paddles.
• Operate in line with CoPTTM and Health & Safety rules.
• Regular site inspections, monitor traffic, communicate with team.
• Modify equipment as needed and report hazards or incidents.
• Control entry/exit to the worksite.

We want to hear from you if you are interested in traffic controlling or STMS worker with practical experience.

You will need to be able to make your own way to and from work, a full licence is advantageous but not essentail.

Traffic Management roles include:

• TTM Implementation: Setting up, maintaining, and removing temporary traffic management (TTM) devices (signs, cones, lighting) as per the TMP.


• Site Management: Ensuring the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians by managing traffic flow.


• Directing Traffic: Using stop/go paddles or hand signals to guide traffic through or around the worksite.


• Compliance: Operating in compliance with CoPTTM (Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management) and Health & Safety regulations.


• Monitoring & Communication: Regularly inspecting site devices, monitoring traffic conditions, and communicating with workers and the public.


• Modification & Reporting: Modifying traffic equipment, pausing operations for safety, and reporting hazards or incidents.


• Entry/Exit Control: Controlling access to the worksite
