Job summary

Plumbing World has a fantastic opportunity at our Wellington branch for a Trade Sales superstar. You will be at the trade counter serving customers, assisting with inventory, and helping with order picking and packing.

This full-time role is busy and varied, offering chances to grow within a national Kiwi business. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is essential.
• Sales experience or empathy for customers is valued.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to a busy branch.
• Attention to detail in stock, orders and paperwork.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 20kgs.
• Experience using a computer for sales and stock tasks.
• A full NZ driver's licence is required.
• Forklift licence is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the busy trade counter and assist with orders.
• Help manage inventory, cycle counts and stock checks.
• Pick and pack customer orders and support other branch tasks.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and daily branch operations.

About The Role

Plumbing World has a fantastic opportunity available in our Wellington branch, with a Trade Sales superstar role now open!

Our Wellington branch is fast-paced, and has an opportunity for a bit of an all-rounder to join their team. This role is going to be busy, so you will be part of the team to keep it humming.

Day to day you will be working on our busy trade counter serving our customers, also assisting with inventory, cycle counting, picking & packing customer orders, plus helping out in other areas of the branch, there is always something to do. You never be bored!

This role could be a great fit for Plumbers, Tradies, or those from a trade background who are looking to step away from the tools while still staying connected to the industry.

As you grow your skills, demonstrate initiative, and take on new challenges, there is genuine potential to progress into broader responsibilities and other areas of the business over time.

This role is a permanent full-time position working 40-42.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday with rostered Saturdays.

Specific start and finish times will be discussed during the interview stage.

A Quick Glance At What We Need From You

Training will of course be given however sales &/or work experience within the plumbing industry or with trade based customers would be an advantage.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have

• Good customer sales & excellent customer service skills.
• Administration and excellent attention to detail skills is a must.
• Work well under pressure while displaying good sound logic.
• Physically fit as there will be some heavy lifting (up to 20kgs)
• Good computer skills is essential.
• Full, clean New Zealand drivers' licence.
• A valid forklift licence is preferred but not essential.
• Pride in personal appearance with great interpersonal skills.
