Job summary

Smith's Mitre 10 Mega in Christchurch seeks a Trade / Drive-thru / Yard Supervisor to lead and develop a team across trade and retail. You will guide customers and staff with expertise, ensuring efficient operations and high service standards.

The role demands a proactive leader with strong communication and safety focus. The position is permanent full-time, with hours Tuesday to Saturday and a total of 42.5 hours per week, reporting to the Retail Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar supervisory role is essential.
• Forklift license is essential; access to combi & reach forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a mixed-experience team to gel as one.
• Oversee 2 direct reports with additional indirect reports.
• Deliver outstanding service to drive growth and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee trade, drive-thru and yard operations to move materials to site.

Our trade & drive-thru business is continually growing, contributing to our overall growth whilst establishing a solid foundation in the community. No 2 days are the same, the ground is always moving, and we work at pace to deliver materials direct to site and out of our Hornby store.

We are looking for a resilient, natural but equally passionate people leader to support, develop and coach a team with mixed experience to gel as one. With 2 direct reports and multiple indirect, you will be the overall 'go to' to deliver an outstanding service to achieve ultimate growth.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a similar position - essential
• Forklift license - essential (will also have access to combi & reach forklifts)
• Excellent written and oral communication
• A positive attitude and a strong work ethic
• A high degree of focus across H&S policies & procedures
• A natural problem solver whilst working under pressure
