Job summary

Mitre 10 MEGA Nelson is seeking motivated team players to assist customers with building, trade and DIY needs. The role emphasises strong customer service, safety leadership, and product knowledge in timber and building materials.

You will work a full-time, 40-hour week including one weekend day, with a focus on helping tradies and DIYers find the right products quickly and safely.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering outstanding customer service to building, trade and DIY customers.
• Commitment to health & safety practices on the shop floor.
• Knowledge of timber and building products is an advantage with training provided.
• Forklift license is advantageous but not essential; must have or willing to obtain.
• Must hold a full driver’s license and be willing to obtain forklift license if not licensed.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with product selection and requirements.
• Lead by example on Health & Safety practices.
• Support timber, building products and landscaping offerings.
• Be physically active and engaged on the shop floor most of the day.
• Possibly work weekends as part of a 40-hour week.

We currently have Nelson's largest Trade offer in terms of timber, building products and landscaping range within one location.

We are seeking motivated and reliable team players to assist our customers. You must have the following qualities:

• Ability to deliver outstanding customer service to our building, trade, and DIY customers ensuring they get the right products in a timely manner every time;
• You are in amongst it, so you will lead by example when it comes to Health & Safety work practices;
• Knowledge of timber and building products would be an advantage but on going training will be provided;
• A Forklift license and F endorsement would be an advantage, but not essential. However as a minimum You MUST at least have a full driver’s license and be willing and able to obtain a forklift license;
• A reasonable level of physical fitness is required, as the role will require you to be active most of the day.

This role is a full-time role, forty hours per week, including one weekend day. If you have experience in retail, hospitality, outdoor adventure tourism or industry's focused on customer service, we want to hear from you.
