Job summary

Reece Group in Papanui, Canterbury, is seeking a Trade Counter Assistant to support plumbers and tradespeople, provide product information, quotes and assist with stock control. This is a branch-based role in a dynamic retail environment.

You will deliver orders, maintain shop floor displays, and participate in stock control while developing your career through our training programs and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail sales or customer service.
• Comfort with giving quotes and assisting customers.
• Able to drive and perform deliveries when required.

About the role

As part of the Trade Counter team (Branch Staff) in Papanui, you’ll help plumbers and other tradespeople access the products they need for building and renovation projects and undertake other tasks that keep the branch running smoothly.

Your day-to-day

A typical day involves:

• Providing customer service and information about products
• Make regular deliveries to customers using a company vehicle
• Providing quotes both in person and over the phone
• Undertaking pick packing and stock control activities
• Help keep the branch tidy and safe

We’d love to hear from you if you’re someone who:

• Has previous experience in retail sales or customer service and enjoys helping customers both in person and over the phone
• Can pick orders, maintain shop floor displays and ensure information provided is accurate
• Is tech-savvy and is adaptable to new systems
• Has a clean, valid driver’s licence and is open to working various shifts, including weekends
• Wants to develop their career - either locally, within our network or head office
