Job summary

LeaderBrand in Gisborne, New Zealand, is seeking a Tractor Driver/Machine Operator to join a forward‑thinking, family‑run business that grows fresh produce nationwide.

You'll run tractors large and small, operate cultivation gear and harvesters, and maintain equipment while following safety practices. The role requires 3+ years of experience with large equipment, a Full Class 1 + F endorsement, and eligibility to work in NZ; a permanent full-time position awaits the right person.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with large equipment (or similar from mining, civils, forestry).
• Mechanical aptitude for basic maintenance and servicing.
• Full Class 1 driving licence plus F endorsement and eligibility to work in NZ.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors (various sizes) and cultivation gear to prepare paddocks and grow crops.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and ensure safety protocols are followed.

As a Tractor Driver/Machine Operator, you’ll be hands-on in horticulture - cultivating land, preparing paddocks and growing crops, while operating the best gear and GPS systems. If you’re skilled on machinery, have an eye for precision, and want to be part of a solid company that looks after its people and the land, this is your shot.

What you’ll run:

• Tractors big and small (Case, Fendt, John Deere)
• Cultivation gear and precision harvesters
• Planters and grader scoops
• Tile drain ploughs
• Diggers and forklifts

What you bring:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with large equipment (or similar from mining, civils, forestry)
• Mechanical aptitude for basic maintenance
• Full Class 1 + F endorsement
• Safety-first, proactive, able to work solo or help train other
• Must be eligible to work in NZ.
