Job summary

Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu Farming is seeking a skilled Tractor Driver & Maintenance Specialist to support our North Canterbury contracting team. The role involves operating tractors and heavy machinery, performing maintenance, and assisting with cropping and development activities to keep farm operations efficient.

You will work within a values-led, safety-conscious team and contribute to cultural development while upholding health and environmental standards.

Qualifications

Proven Experience working in the agricultural sector.
Have a good understanding of Greenstar auto steer systems.
Proven Experience operating John Deere and Case tractors.
Be able to work rostered weekends when needed.
Flexible with start and finish times during the busy season.
Proven experience operating tractors and heavy machinery.
Know your way around hand tools, welders and the like.
Practical maintenance and repair skills.
A proactive approach, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong observation skills and sound decision-making ability.
Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practice.
Hold relevant licenses and endorsements.
A willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies and continuously develop.
Understanding of, or willingness to learn, Ngāi Tahu values, tikanga and te reo Māori.
