Education Review Office (ERO) invites a senior education leader to drive evaluation and improvement across schools and kura in Aotearoa New Zealand. The role is based in Auckland with flexible arrangements and a strong commitment to equity for learners.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for the education sector and ERO.
• Experience in senior education leadership roles that include using evaluation to guide improvement.
• Experience working in Māori medium immersion settings within English medium schools.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

This role is part of the Review and Improvement Services (RIS) group and reports to the Toki Ngao Tū / Manager Review and Improvement Services. The focus of the role is to:

• evaluate the quality of education provided by schools, including the quality of teaching and learning through the provision of te reo Māori
• support improvement through evaluation
• prepare high-quality reports that are made available to the public

The ideal applicant will be based in Auckland although location may be flexible for the right person.

Mōhou ake | About you

• extensive knowledge of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and The New Zealand Curriculum
• a deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for the education sector and ERO
• strong knowledge of effective pedagogical practices in Māori medium immersion and English medium settings
• experience working in Māori medium immersion settings within English medium schools
• experience in senior education leadership roles that include using evaluation to guide improvement
• effective communication skills in te reo Māori and English, both written and oral
