Job summary

Downer Group in Auckland is seeking a Temporary Traffic Management Designer to join our Energy & Utilities team for a 12-month fixed-term role at Kerrs Road, Wiri. You will design, review and maintain TMPs and TMDs, supporting safe, compliant traffic management for telecoms construction and maintenance.

You will apply NZTA standards, NZGTTM knowledge and collaborate with planning and field teams to manage risk and deliver practical solutions on time.

Qualifications

• Must hold current TTM Designer competency per NZQA standards.
• Warrant or STMS/TMO credentials where applicable.
• Experience producing and reviewing TMPs and TMDs for telecom/utility works.
• Knowledge of NZGTTM, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, RCA and Utilities Access Code.
• Ability to design traffic controls for fibre/copper works and road works.
• Proficient with TTM design software and MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Produce, review and amend TMPs, TMDs, reusable schemes and supporting documentation.
• Design practical traffic management controls for telecoms and civil works.
• Complete risk assessments considering traffic, road geometry and site constraints.
• Align TMP data with Corridor Access Requests, submit documentation and respond to queries.
• Perform self-checks and participate in peer, risk and technical reviews.
• Provide technical advice to corridor access, planning and field teams.
