Job summary

Grada Recruitment seeks a Temporary Works Design Engineer for high-rise construction projects across NZ and Australia. The role emphasizes deep temporary works and challenging structural problems with ownership of design work.

You will contribute to jump form systems and major Auckland projects, backed by senior engineers, with a strong focus on delivering buildable, code-compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structural or construction engineering experience.
• Temporary works design experience.
• Strong first-principles structural design capability.
• Experience with Strand7 preferred, or SpaceGass as a minimum.
• NZ construction experience would be beneficial.

Temporary Works Design Engineer | High Rise Construction Engineering

This is a design-heavy Construction Engineer role for someone who enjoys solving challenging structural problems and wants exposure to work well beyond the standard consultancy project mix.

With a strong pipeline across New Zealand and Australia, they’re now looking to strengthen their Auckland construction engineering team.

About the role

You’ll work across complex temporary works packages, with a major focus on jump form systems supporting large-scale high-rise construction.

You don’t need previous jump form experience. What matters is a solid temporary works or structural design background, strong engineering fundamentals and an appetite to learn.

Alongside the Australian high-rise workload, you’ll also contribute to major Auckland construction projects involving early contractor engagement and technically challenging temporary works.

• Strong first-principles structural design capability

• Confidence working through complex engineering problems
• A practical understanding of how your designs translate to site
• NZ construction experience would be beneficial
• CPEng is not required
