Job summary

ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join a leading civil contractor delivering major infrastructure projects in Auckland. You will coordinate temporary works design and delivery across complex sites, working closely with project engineers and design teams to ensure practical, constructible solutions.

Based in Auckland, this permanent full-time role offers exposure to high-profile projects and strong career development within a market-leading contractor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Structural Engineer, Temporary Works Engineer, or Temporary Works Coordinator.
• Strong technical background in structures, bridges, heavy civil, or temporary works.
• Experience with temporary works design, construction methodologies, or structural engineering.
• Excellent communication and coordination across site teams and designers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate temporary works requirements between project teams and designers.
• Prepare and reflect project requirements in briefs with site teams.
• Liaise with temporary works designers to ensure designs are practical and fit for purpose.
• Track and deliver temporary works designs within required timeframes.
• Prioritise design requirements based on project sequencing and construction needs.
• Review designs and coordinate technical queries, revisions, and changes.
• Identify temporary works requirements early in the construction process.

ConsultANZ is looking for an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join a top-tier civil contractor delivering major infrastructure projects in Auckland. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong engineer to play a key role in coordinating temporary works design and delivery across complex projects.

• Permanent full-time position
• Based in Auckland

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate temporary works requirements between project teams and internal/external designers
• Work with Project Engineers and site teams to ensure temporary works briefs are clearly prepared and accurately reflect project requirements
• Liaise with temporary works designers to ensure designs are practical, constructible, and fit for purpose
• Coordinate and track temporary works designs to ensure they are delivered within required timeframes
• Prioritise design requirements based on project sequencing and construction needs
• Review designs against project requirements and coordinate technical queries, revisions, and changes
• Work closely with project teams to identify temporary works requirements early in the construction process
• Ensure temporary works designs integrate effectively with construction methodologies and project delivery requirements

What You Bring

• Relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Structural Engineer, Temporary Works Engineer, or Temporary Works Coordinator
• Strong technical background in structures, bridges, heavy civil, or temporary works
• Experience working with temporary works design, construction methodologies, or structural engineering
• Strong understanding of constructability and site requirements
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively between site teams and designers
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple design requirements and priorities
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong technical problem-solving capabilities
