Job summary

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare in Auckland is seeking a Technical Writer for an 18‑month fixed-term assignment. You will create, maintain and improve documentation across the product lifecycle, working with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in science or engineering; prior technical writing is valued but not essential, with a strong focus on regulation familiarity and cross‑functional collaboration.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Familiarity with medical device regulation and quality management systems.

About the opportunity

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare prides itself on its relentless pursuit of healthcare innovation and we have an opportunity for you to be at the forefront of this as we expand the use of one of our key therapies, Optiflow.

We are seeking a technical writer to join our team for a fixed term of 18 months. You will play a key role in creating, maintaining and improving our product documentation. Operating in a highly regulated environment, your exceptional written and verbal communication skills will enable you to develop and maintain clear, accurate and compliant documentation that supports our product range throughout its lifecycle. Your collaboration with subject matter experts will enable you to gather technical information and translate it into clear and concise documentation supporting activities across product development, clinical, regulatory and post market.

About you

We are looking for applicants with a relevant tertiary qualification in science, engineering or related field. Prior experience as a technical writer is highly valued but not essential. Our ideal candidate also has:

• Experience creating complex technical documentation
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems
• Familiarity with medical device regulation and quality management systems
