Job summary

Gallagher Group in Christchurch, South Island, seeks a driven Technical Account Manager to own the health of the regional security estate, support partners, and ensure customers receive full value from Gallagher platforms. Some travel will be part of the role as you work with key stakeholders across the region.

Based in a home office, you’ll lead technical reviews, coach partners, deliver pre-sales demonstrations, and collaborate with internal teams to design and deploy advanced security

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience with electronic security systems.
• Home-based role in the South Island; strong remote-work setup.
• Consultative, proactive mindset focused on customer needs.
• Strong collaboration in a close-knit team.
• Deep understanding of networked IT environments related to security.
• Familiarity with tender processes and response preparation.
• Excellent planning, organisation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Are you a driven and dynamic electronic security expert? Join our globally recognised, award-winning security business and take your career to the next level. Based in Christchurch, this role supports our valued stakeholders across the South Island - so some travel will be part of the job. You’ll be the technical leader for the region, keeping our installed base healthy, helping our partners sell and support the full platform, and making sure customers get everything their Gallagher investment can deliver.

As part of #TeamGallagher, you’ll:

• Own the health of the South Island Estate, run proactive system reviews and site health checks across our installed base, keeping customers current, secure and getting full value, and surfacing the upgrade and optimisation opportunities that come with that.

• Lift Our Partners’ Capability: Coach and enable our channel partners to design and sell the whole platform, so they win more work and their customers get more from their investment.

• Champion Technical Sales Support: Deliver expert technical support to the Gallagher team, our partners, and end customers - helping to unlock sales opportunities through compelling product presentations, clear and confident tender responses, and engaging pre-sales demonstrations.

• Lead Proactive Technical Support & Solution Design: Whether on-site or remotely, provide advice, system commissioning, technical troubleshooting, and assist with product migrations - ensuring our partners stay technically sharp and our customers stay happy.

• Promote Advanced Security Solutions: Team up with sales to advocate for our high-spec systems in Government, Tertiary, and Corporate sectors through thoughtful system design, tailored presentations, commissioning, and certification.

• Coordinate and Enhance Technical Services: Collaborate with internal teams to deliver technical support services that align with Gallagher’s strategic direction and regional goals.

• Manage and Maintain Technical Records: Apply and uphold Gallagher’s technical guidelines, ensure databases are kept current, and relay regional insights to our wider Technical Support Service team.

The Fit

To thrive in this role, you’ll ideally have hands‑on experience with Gallagher Security products and a solid understanding of electronic security solutions. This is a home‑based role in the South Island, so you’ll need a dedicated, professional home office setup.

You’ll also bring:

• A consultative, proactive mindset: you look for what a customer needs next, not just what’s broken today

• A strong ability to collaborate in and contribute to a close‑knit team

• 5+ years' experience working with electronic security systems

• Project management and/or hands‑on installation experience in security systems

• A deep understanding of networked IT environments and how they relate to the security industry

• A good grasp of electrical principles and system functionality

• Familiarity with tender processes, including response preparation

• Excellent skills in planning, organisation, and collaborative teamwork
