Job description

Our Silver Fern Farms Finegand Processing Site in Balclutha employs 1200+ Team Members at the height of the season.

Location: 30 minutes south of Milton, one hour east of Gore, and one hour south of Dunedin, with buses available from Dunedin to Finegand (Balclutha) for most shifts.

Working Arrangements

• Complete your on‑the‑job training and earn a minimum of $28.82 per hour plus extras.
• Usually 40 hours per week during peak production season, plus overtime opportunities.
• Minimum $43 per hour for production overtime.
• 8‑hour shifts; day shift hours 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, evening shift hours 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.
• All work clothing and safety gear are provided.

Job Requirements

• No experience required – we provide all necessary training.
• Must be an active team member who can work closely with others and bring a positive, hardworking attitude.
• Must be able to understand and follow health and safety, quality, and technical compliance requirements.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass pre‑employment medical checks, criminal convictions check, and physical fitness requirements.
• Pre‑employment drug screening is mandatory.
• Access to quality meat at mates’ rates on‑site to nourish you and your whānau.
• On‑the‑job training and opportunities for career development are provided.
