Job summary

CARTERS Cambridge Manufacturing is seeking a hands-on Team Leader to run the day shift, ensuring products are produced to specification and delivered on time. You will establish standards, drive performance, and keep the team organized, motivated and productive.

You will coach the team to meet daily production schedules, set clear standards, and actively manage performance while maintaining a safe working environment. A forklift licence and OSH certification are required.

Qualifications

• Leadership or supervisory experience.
• Confident setting standards and managing performance.
• Strong communicator who can organise people and prioritise workload under pressure.
• Practical problem-solver with focus on efficiency and productivity.
• Genuine focus on safety and doing things the right way.
• Forklift licence (F Endorsed) and OSH Certification.
• Carpentry or construction background.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a day shift and ensure products go out on time and to spec.
• Coach and motivate the team to hit daily schedules and targets.
• Set clear performance and quality standards for the shift and ensure consistency.
• Organise and prioritise workload to keep the shift running smoothly.
• Provide day-to-day feedback, guidance and support to the team.
• Identify hazards and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Liaise with Production Manager and other Team Leaders to resolve issues.
• Ensure documentation and reporting meet customer specifications.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading a team, setting the standards, driving performance, and keeping the team organised, motivated and productive.

About the Role

Leading a team on the day shift, you will be responsible for making sure product goes out the door on time, to specification, and to the quality our customers expect. Establishing clear standards, managing performance day to day, and keeping the team focused and working efficiently.

• Coaching and motivating the team to hit daily production schedules and performance targets
• Setting clear performance and quality standards for the shift and ensuring the team consistently meets them
• Organising and prioritising the team's workload to keep the shift running smoothly and efficiently
• Managing day-to-day performance by providing feedback, guidance and support where needed
• Identifying and reporting hazards, and ensuring the team works safely and in line with Health and Safety procedures
• Liaising with the Production Manager, other Team Leaders, and team members to keep production running smoothly and resolve issues promptly
• Ensuring quality and compliance by making sure product meets customer specifications and that required documentation and reporting is completed accurately

About You
