Job summary

Silver Fern Farms Limited is seeking a Team Leader- Cold Chain to provide day-to-day leadership of a production team delivering safe, high quality, compliant outputs. You will drive delivery against production targets, embed a positive culture built on respect, accountability, teamwork, safety and continuous improvement, and work with QA, Engineering and other internal stakeholders.

The role also supports sustainability initiatives and daily KPI reporting, with opportunities to influence process

Qualifications

• Experience leading production teams in a food manufacturing environment.

• Ability to drive safe, efficient, high-quality production outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and support team members to achieve production, specification, quality, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Clearly communicate daily production plans and ensure the team understands delivery expectations.
• Build an uncompromising safety culture and act promptly where standards are not being met.
• Monitor performance, attendance, compliance and workplace behaviours, escalating serious concerns when required.
• Maintain accurate, secure and confidential injury, medical and rehabilitation records.
• Work closely with processing teams, QA, Engineering, Department Leaders and other internal stakeholders.
• Champion continuous improvement through Streamline, line meetings, waste reduction and practical problem solving.
• Support sustainability, environmental and reporting requirements, including daily KPI exceptions.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to give clear directions and constructive feedback.
• Good attention to detail and confidence working in a fast-moving production environment.
• Sound understanding of product specifications, customer requirements, food safety and hygiene compliance.
• Ability to work effectively with different teams and build positive working relationships.
• Willingness to complete all required leadership, health and safety, compliance and operational training
• A practical, energetic and accountable approach to achieving team and business outcomes.

Our Team Leader- Cold Chain is an important leadership role responsible for supporting a production team to deliver safe, high quality, compliant and efficient outcomes every day.

The successful candidate will provide day to day leadership, ensure team members understand expectations and production targets, and help embed a positive team culture built on respect, accountability, teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
