Job summary

Job description

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. The opportunity This is a pivotal leadership role for an experienced asset management professional who is passionate about driving excellence in asset management practice and shaping the future of critical water infrastructure. In this role, you'll provide people leadership across Tiaki Wai's asset management practice and reporting, ensuring Tiaki Wai has the insights, frameworks, and information needed to make and present confident investment decisions to deliver resilient water services for the future. Through collaboration across disciplines, you will unite different perspectives and planning approaches into a single, integrated strategy that supports consistent, evidence-based investment decisions across the organisation.

You will:
  • drive the development and continuous improvement of the Asset Management System (AMS), Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), and associated planning frameworks
  • oversee strategic condition assessment programmes and ensure asset condition, risk, and performance information is translated into practical planning and investment recommendations
  • integrate growth forecasts, levels of service, and future demand considerations into infrastructure planning and long-term investment strategies
  • partner with stakeholders across the business and provide trusted advice to executives, supporting evidence-based decision-making.

  • significant experience in asset management leadership, preferably in an asset-intensive or regulated environment
  • strong knowledge of contemporary asset management principles and frameworks, including ISO55000 and strategic asset management planning
  • the ability to build trusted relationships and work collaboratively across an organisation
  • excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and developing team capability.
