Job summary

Onerahi School is seeking experienced Class 5 Drivers for a major civil construction project in Picton, starting January 2027. You will operate Class 5 truck and trailer units, transport materials to and from sites, and work around quarry environments with strict safety practices.

Applicants should hold a full Class 5 licence with proven civil experience, be comfortable reversing trailers, and familiar with Road Ranger gearboxes; Site Safe/ConstructSafe is preferred.

Qualifications

• Full Class 5 licence is required.
• Proven civil construction driving experience.
• Confident operating Road Ranger gearboxes.
• Experience reversing truck and trailer units.
• Confident with jack-knifing manoeuvres.
• Previous quarry/construction site experience preferred.
• Site Safe or ConstructSafe required; assistance may be provided.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work independently.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Reversing and manoeuvring truck and trailer combinations

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Full Class 5 licence

• Site Safe or ConstructSafe required – assistance with Site Safe can be provided

WHAT'S ON OFFER

• $34–$36 per hour, depending on experience
• Long‑term work on a 12‑month project
• January 2027 start
• Opportunity to work across a major civil construction programme

• This role is based in Picton. Accommodation, travel, living‑away and relocation allowances are not currently provided. Applicants must be able to arrange their own travel and accommodation if relocating for this position.
