Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher
We are seeking a warm, committed teacher to join our learning support team in 2027. This permanent part-time position is .4 FTTE and involves teaching in our learning support class, where our ORS-funded students receive their allocated teacher time before being mainstreamed. The learning support class teacher is supported by a wonderful team of kind, caring, and skilled teacher aides.
While the position is permanent .4 FTTE, ORS numbers can vary from year to year, so any increase in hours would be negotiated if necessary. There is also flexibility in how the .4 FTTE is structured– either mornings or 2 full days per week.
Applicants must hold a current New Zealand teacher registration. Please do not apply if you do not currently hold NZ teacher registration.
The successful applicant will build strong relationships with students, whānau, and staff, and will consistently uphold and model our school values: aroha, kōrero, and ora. Experience working with ORS-funded students or learners with complex needs is an advantage, but not essential– we welcome teachers who are caring, patient, and eager to learn.
Spotswood Primary is a well-resourced, community-focused, contributing school. You are welcome to visit, but please make an appointment through the school office. Any questions can be directed to the Principal, Mark Fisher.
