Job summary

Howick College is seeking two motivated and innovative teachers of Social Studies to join our supportive and collegial team in East Auckland. These permanent positions commence at the start of the 2027 school year, welcoming both experienced teachers and graduates finishing this year.

The successful candidates will be collaborative educators with strong relational practice and a commitment to placing students at the heart of learning.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current social studies pedagogy and curriculum delivery.
• Experience or potential to teach across junior and senior Social Studies programmes.
• Commitment to NCEA framework and high expectations for student learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Social Studies instruction to Years 7–13 across junior and senior programmes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support student-centred learning and assessment of progress.
• Engage with whanau and community to place students at the heart of learning.
