Job summary

Northern Health School in Takanini, South Auckland, is looking for a compassionate Teacher Aide for 25-30 hours per week, term-time only. Start ASAP at our South Auckland Unit, located beside Kauri Flats School.

You will work with experienced teachers to support students with health challenges, assist with curriculum delivery, prepare resources, and help students participate in class through clear English communication and empathy.

Teacher Aide

South Auckland Unit (Takanini)

25-30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Term time only - school holidays unpaid.

Potential opportunity for someone to work close to home in this permanent, part-time teacher aide role where you would join a dedicated team of teachers at our South Auckland school unit, next to the Kauri Flats school in Takanini.

As a Teacher Aide, you will work alongside experienced teachers to support the individual learning needs of students/ākonga and their participation in the classroom. This role includes assisting with curriculum delivery, preparing classroom resources, and working directly with students under the guidance of ateam ofteteachers. The work is rewarding and meaningful asyou’llbe making a genuine difference in the lives of young people experiencing health challenges.

This role will suit someone with empathy, excellent communication skills in spoken and written English, and the ability to build professional, respectful relationships with students. Tangata Pasifika connections or the ability to speak Te reo Māori would be highly regarded but not essential.
