Job summary

The Nanny Connection is seeking a caring, kind, and enthusiastic nanny to join a warm, family-focused household in Te Awamutu, Waikato. The role centers on caring for a chatty 1.5-year-old toddler after daycare, with an emphasis on outdoor play, learning through play, and a calm bedtime routine.

3 days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 4:00pm–9:00pm, start ASAP. Pay is $30 per hour, negotiable for the right person.

Qualifications

• Previous nannying or childcare experience.
• Experience caring for toddlers preferred.
• Caring, kind, and nurturing personality.
• Genuine love of children.
• Energetic and enthusiastic.
• Proactive and confident planning activities.
• Enjoys outdoor play and activities.
• Comfortable preparing simple, nutritious meals.
• Confident supporting bath and bedtime routines.

• Valid First Aid and CPR.
• Valid National Police Check.
• Full driver’s licence and reliable vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collecting the toddler from daycare.

• Being proactive in planning fun and creative activities.
• Getting outdoors and making the most of outdoor play.
• Talking, interacting, and engaging with a very chatty toddler.
• Preparing dinner for the toddler/family.
• Helping with bath time.
• Supporting a calm and consistent bedtime routine.
• Folding and putting away children's laundry.

The ideal nanny will genuinely love children, enjoy getting outdoors, and be proactive in planning fun games, activities, and opportunities for learning and play.
