Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an after-school Family Assistant to support two active boys, aged 10 and 12, in Kumeu, Auckland. The role involves school pick-ups, transporting them to activities, and helping with dinner and light chores in the afternoons.

Ideal candidates are reliable, punctual, and comfortable driving. The position is 12 hours per week, 3 days, with mileage reimbursement offered as part of the compensation. School term dates apply, with continuation into 2027.

• Care for two independent, friendly and sporty boys aged 10 and 12. Spend afternoons supporting them at sports training and activities rather than being indoors with younger children. Great role for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle.

Location: Kumeu, Auckland
Hours: 3 days per week, 2:30pm to 6:30pm (12 hours per week). School Term. 12 Oct - 15 Dec 2026 and starting again 2 Feb 2027.

We are looking for a reliable, organised and energetic After School Family Assistant to support our family and help keep our afternoons running smoothly.

The role involves caring for two independent and active boys aged 10 and 12, collecting them from school, transporting them to sporting commitments (basketball, touch rugby and soccer), preparing dinner and assisting with light household tasks.

This position would suit a responsible university student, teacher, sports coach, experienced caregiver, or someone looking for part-time afternoon work.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Is reliable, punctual and trustworthy
• Enjoys working with school-aged children and pre-teens - ideally sporty
• Has a full, clean driver's licence
• Has their own reliable vehicle
• Is organised and able to manage multiple activities and schedules
• Can take initiative and work independently
• Has previous childcare, teaching, coaching or caregiving experience (preferred but not essential)
