Job summary

Connell Contractors in New Plymouth is seeking a Formwork Carpenter to contribute to our civil projects in the Lower North Island, delivering high-quality foundation pads and timber structures on site.

You will have 3 years of verifiable work experience or a relevant trade qualification (level 4 preferred); experience in mainstream formwork carpentry is desirable. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7:00am–5:30pm, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable work experience.
• Alternatively, a relevant trade qualification (level 4 preferred).
• Experience in mainstream formwork carpentry would be preferred.
• A commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Constructing formwork, falsework and other timber structures
• Operating items of small plant and machinery on which you have been deemed competent
• Manual labor including lifting, carrying and shoveling
• Assisting all other trades on site to allow tasks to be completed as efficiently as possible
• Spotting plant and machinery
• Placing concrete
• Collecting and/or delivering materials
• Site cleaning duties and general housekeeping
