Job summary

Tribe Recruitment– Wellington Central is seeking an experienced Senior Data & Insights Analyst with strong Tableau expertise to join a busy organisation on an hourly rate contract through to February 2027. Wellington is preferred, with Auckland or Christchurch considered for exceptional candidates.

You will turn complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders. You’ll use Tableau and SQL to build dashboards, analyse data, and support operational and strategic decisions,

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience across data, analytics or insights.
• Strong hands-on Tableau experience.
• Strong SQL skills and an understanding of data structures.
• Experience building, testing and maintaining dashboards for business users.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to translate data into practical recommendations and decisions.
• Confidence engaging with stakeholders across different levels of an organisation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hit the ground running in a contract environment.

Responsibilities

• Developing, maintaining and improving Tableau dashboards and reporting.
• Analysing complex datasets and translating findings into actionable insights.
• Using SQL and BI tools to interrogate and understand data.
• Working with stakeholders to understand business challenges and reporting needs.
• Providing evidence-based insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Supporting modelling, testing and analysis of proposed solutions.
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, analytics and business processes.
• Communicating complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
