Job summary

TribeRecruit New Zealand is seeking an experienced Data & Insights Analyst to join on an hourly rate contract through to February 2027 in Wellington. Strong Tableau and SQL skills are a must, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

You will develop, maintain and improve Tableau dashboards, interrogate datasets, and work with business units to translate challenges into reporting needs and evidence-based recommendations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience across data, analytics or insights.
• Strong hands-on Tableau experience.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of data structures.
• Ability to translate data into practical recommendations for business.
• Experience building dashboards for business users.
• Confident in engaging with stakeholders across levels.
• Available for hourly contract through Feb 2027.

About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced data and insights professional who is immediately available and highly capable in Tableau?
We’re looking for an experienced Data & Insights Analyst to join a complex organisation on an hourly rate contract through to February 2027. Wellington is strongly preferred, however we may consider experienced candidates based in Auckland or Christchurch.
This is a great opportunity for someone who can get up to speed quickly, work confidently with complex datasets and turn information into clear, practical insights for senior stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing, maintaining and improving Tableau dashboards and reporting
• Analysing complex datasets and translating findings into actionable insights
• Using SQL and BI tools to interrogate and understand data
• Working with stakeholders to understand business challenges and reporting needs
• Providing evidence-based insights to support operational and strategic decisions
• Supporting modelling, testing and analysis of proposed solutions
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, analytics and business processes
• Communicating complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

What You’ll Bring

• Strong hands- on Tableau experience - this is a key requirement
• 3+ years’ experience across data, analytics or insights
